Mysore Division adjudged Best Division of SWR

HUBLI: Mysore Division of the South Western Railway (SWR) has been adjudged the “Best Division” among the three divisions of the zone and was awarded the “Overall Efficiency Shield” here recently.

General Manager of SWR Praveen Kumar handed over the shield to Divisional Railway Manager of Mysore S. Vijaya Raghavan during the 53rd Railway Week celebrations held here.

On the occasion, 18 efficiency shields to various divisions, departments and units were given based on their performance during 2007-08. Hubli Division of SWR won the departmental efficiency shields namely commercial, engineering, medical, stores and inter divisional Rajbhasha rolling shield.

As many as 146 employees, including 24 officers, from various departments, divisions, workshops, diesel sheds of SWR were conferred the “General Manager’s Award” and given merit certificates with cash prizes for their outstanding performance.

The first “Woman of the year award” instituted by SWR was presented to Sushma B. Jadhav, senior clerk in engineering branch of Hubli division. Two more new awards General Manager’s merit awards for girl students were also presented on the occasion.

Mr. Praveen Kumar released the quarterly internal Hindi news bulletin “Abhivyakti” published by the Rajbhasha Vibhag of SWR. Prithi Taware, Chief Personnel Officer of SWR, Rita Kumar, President of SWR Women’s Welfare Organisation and several senior railway officials were present.
