for RRB Gorakhpur

The results were published immediately

Thiruvananthapuram: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Thiruvananthapuram has successfully customised e-recruitment tool developed by it for holding online examinations for recruitment of staff at the national level.

The RRB, Thiruvananthapuram, became the nodal bench for the other 19 RRBs in the country by holding national online examinations from here on Saturday and Sunday. The online exam was conducted for RRB, Gorakhpur. The venue of the examination, attended by over 2,000 applicants, was Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College, Gorakhpur. The questions were uploaded from here at the appropriate time scheduled for each batch.

Security features

RRB sources said the data was transmitted across a secure virtual private network (VPN).The e-recruitment tool has multi-level security features. Results were processed at Thiruvananthapuram. After data interchange, which occurs in real time, the results were mailed back to Gorakhpur immediately.

The results were published immediately and were made available to media. It will followed by document verification of the successful candidates.

It provides speedy, secure and transparent recruitment process, wherein candidates can walk in, get their skills tested and return with a job offer. “The aim is now to set up RRB certified online testing centre for holding national online examinations to bring down the costs involved in recruitment of personnel,” Chairman of RRB, Thiruvananthapuram, A. Mohan Menon, told The Hindu.

As RRB does not have the adequate infrastructure, online examinations attended by large number of candidates like those for stations masters cannot be taken up now.

Last year, the RRB, Thiruvananthapuram, had held online examinations in five centres in the city.
