YSR to lay stone for bridge tomorrow

Staff Reporter

Rajahmundry: The long-pending issue of Konaseema is going to be solved by laying foundation for Sakhinetipalli-Narasapuram bridge by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy at Sakhinetipalli in Razole constituency on Tuesday.

Tenders for Sakhinetipalli bridge were called for several times and many contractors did not come forward for open bidding. After that Razole MLA Alluri Krishnam Raju and Minister J. Rammohana Rao met the Chief Minister and asked him to accept contract on nomination basis. Then, the Mytas Company came forward to take up the Rs.192-crore project for execution. Under the agreement the government will pay Rs.19 crores per annum to the Mytas Company every year for 10 years from now.

According to district Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi, the Chief Minister will directly come to Sakhinetipalli around 3 p.m. by helicopter and lay foundation for bridge.
