Huge gathering at farmers’ conference

DAVANGERE: The farmers’ conference organised by the Congress party here on Sunday was attended by over 40,000 people from across the State.

Farmers from places including Haveri, Gadag, Hubli, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Bellary, Chitradurga and Shimoga came in KSRTC and private buses for the conference held at the Government High School grounds. Over 300 buses were parked at many places blocking traffic. The gathering sat through the speeches of the leaders despite the scorching sun.
