The incident took place when the victim’s grandmother took her to the bathroom. The accused -- who lives with his brother and sister-in-law on the second floor of the same building – entered the house, overpowered the grandmother and tied up her hands. He then allegedly assaulted the girl in the bathroom. Hearing the screams of the grandmother, the victim’s mother who was sleeping with her two younger sons, rushed to the bathroom, but the accused had fled by then. The police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the 23-year-old accused who is a mini-bus driver. The victim’s father is a businessman and was away on a trip to Agra. In yet another case, four persons, some of whom are suspected to be minors, allegedly tried to criminally assault a six-year-old girl at Rohini Sector 20 on Sunday morning. The girl had gone to a temple to get “prasad” when the miscreants took her to a dilapidated house on some pretext. The child escaped from the clutches of the accused as some children reached there after hearing her screams. The police have arrested one of the accused and launched a hunt for the others.
