TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams’ ‘Rama Ratham’ will embark on its return journey from Bhadrachalam on April 16 after the conclusion of ‘Srirama Navami’ festival. The ‘ratham’ will take the same path on its return journey for logistical convenience, in the process covering over 1,600 villages spread over 11 districts. While the onward journey took 56 days to cover, the return journey would be hastened up to reach Tirumala in 40 days. Novel programmeCoinciding with Vaikunta Ekadasi last December, the TTD had taken up a novel programme called ‘Chaturyuga Bandham’ to establish Lord Venkateswara as the supreme deity of Kaliyuga and also trace the link between Venkateswara and Maha Vishnu’s previous incarnations viz., Narasimha, Rama and Krishna in ‘Kruthayuga’, ‘Trethayuga’ and ‘Dwaparayuga’ respectively. Chariots carrying the deities of Lord Venkateswara, similar to those at Tirumala, were sent to Narasimha, Rama and Krishna temples in Simhachalam , Bhadrachalam and Movva respectively.
