THANJAVUR: A meeting on research and development initiatives in Periyar Maniammai University was held at the University on Monday - Dr. Ambedkar’s birthday. Muthaiah Mariappan, Chairman, Tamil Nadu State Level Environmental Appraisal Committee in the Ministry of Environment and Forest, was the chief guest. Prof. Muthiah Mariappan said that faculty members could do research on popular themes like “global warming” and “safe drinking water.” The Vice-Chancellor of Periyar Maniammai University N. Ramachandran also spoke. Faculty members of different departments presented their research efforts. The Director, Centre for students and Administrative Services, Ashok Kumar and the Dean (Research), D. Kumar offered felicitations.
