Academy at Jamshedpur
JAMSHEDPUR: Taking inspiration from the exploits of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Jharkhand’s first state-of-art cricket coaching academy is ready to roll on.
Veteran left-arm spinner and former Bihar’s Ranji Trophy captain K.V.P. Rao has started the Agrico Civic Cricket Academy (ACCA) in the steel city.
Inaugurated by Chief Operating Officer of Tata Steel, H. M. Nerurkar, on Friday the ACCA will function on the lines of Sourav Ganguly’s Videocon Cricket Academy in Kolkata. Training will be imparted by National Cricket Academy-qualified Level-3 and Level 2 coaches.
In a fine gesture, the ACCA has promised to provide free training to visually impaired and blind cricketers.
