Diwakar Babu joins JD(S)

BANGALORE: Congress leader and former Minister M. Diwakar Babu, and former BJP MLA Shivaputra Desai on Monday joined the Janata Dal (Secular) in the presence of party president H.D. Deve Gowda.

Later speaking to presspersons, Mr. Babu said he would work for the party under the guidance of Mr. Deve Gowda.

Mr. Babu, who hails from the Mundlur family, represented Bellary city twice in the Assembly. Mr. Shivaputra Desai, former MLA for Hoovina Hipparagi, joined the party along with his supporters.
