BJP warns Govt. on faulty power meters

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Saket, Vijay Jolly, on Monday said the Delhi Government must ensure that the common man is refunded the excess amount charged by the Capital’s power distribution companies due to fast-running faulty power meters.

Warning that the BJP would soon launch a public campaign to force the administration to act on the issue, Mr. Jolly in a statement accused the private power distribution companies of “cheating the citizens of Delhi”.

The BJP leader said the complaints of citizens of Delhi about fast-running and faulty meters stood vindicated after the first report of the Electricity Consumers’ Advocate Committee constituted by the Delhi Government.
