HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party is gearing itself with logistic support for its president N. Chandrababu Naidu to kick off his ‘yatra’ from Chandragiri, in his native Chittoor district, on April 21. Mr. Naidu told The Hindu that it would focus on improving public awareness on ‘skyrocketing’ prices of essential commodities and ‘alarming’ levels of corruption. “Of course, they are so many other issues we would project to expose the Congress”. Among these are the Government’s ‘absolute’ lack of concern and ‘utter failure’ in implementing welfare schemes, he stated. Former MP and organising secretary, K. Ramamohana Rao, who is coordinating the ‘yatra’, said the party was working out the details. However, the first week’s programme was finalised. Accordingly, Mr. Naidu will cover Tirupati and Kalahasti before halting at Chandragiri for the night on the first day. Between April 22 and 26, he will cover Nellore, Prakasam and Guntur districts. The night halts finalised are Rapur and Udayagiri in Nellore district , Giddalur and Yerraguntapalem in Prakasam district and Macherla on April 26. Mr. Naidu will be travelling by ‘Chaitanya Ratham’.
