Report awaited

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The police are awaiting a report on the four foetuses that were found near the railway track near HMT Factory in Jalahalli police station limits in the city on Sunday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Syed Ulfat Hussain said the foetuses are suspected to have been used as specimen for a study.

The foetuses were not disposed of in a proper manner, Mr. Hussain said.

The police are looking at whether there is a case of abandoning newborns, which is an offence under the Indian Penal Code, he said.

“We are awaiting a report from the M.S. Ramaiah Hospital,” he added.
