Tiruchi: S. Raghavan, Senior faculty, Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchi (NIT-T), presented four research papers at the international conference held at Hangzhou, China, recently. The conference was attended by over 1,500 research scientists from all over the world. It was organised by China’s Jiliang University and Zhejiang University of Technology along with World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society. The theme was Applied Computer and Applied Computational Science, Instruments and Robotics. The papers presented by Dr. Raghavan focussed on the ‘Fusion of Technology,’ emphasising the immediate need for collaboration of engineers and doctors for according a fillip to health care industry and devising a new path for diagnosis and therapeutics. BioMEMS, Microwave Engineering and Telemetry play a major role in taking healthcare to the needy. If technology is applied to medicine effectively, India can reach the top position in medical tourism, said Dr. Raghavan.
