Vellala Educational Trust

The Vellala Educational Trust was formed in the year 1984 by Kumarimavatta Vellalar Sangam. The very purpose of the trust is to give more opportunity to deserving young members in the Vellalar Community both in studies and employment. But today the educational institutions started by the Trust has the unique reputation of giving quality education to students in surrounding areas in and around Nagercoil. The untiring efforts of the stalwarts of the Trust headed by President. Er.S.Ramanatha Pillai and Organizing Secretary Sri.R.Anantha Krishnan and the vibrant General Secretary Thiru.P.Chockalingam Pillai has made this possible. The Trust is successfully running a Polytechnic College in the name of Kalaivanar N.S.Krishnan in Chenbagaramanputhoor and helped those needy Students succeeding in life and playing their own part in our nations progress. The other institutions are Industrial Trainning Centre in the name of Jeeva and a Driving School in the name of President Sivathanu Pillai. A Nursery and Primary School in the name of Er.S.Ramanatha Pillai, the then President. Now the latest and the prestigious addition is an Engineering College in the name of ever remembering Kalaivanar N.S.K. College of Engineering at Therekalputhoor near Nagercoil. The College was started in the academic year 2007 – 2008 and was duly approved by AICTE - New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University Tirunelveli. The K.N.S.K. College of Engineering has set very high standards for the level of education imparted to the Students. Set on a large expanse of land, amidst abounded natural beauty, the College boasts the perfect environment for its Students to excel and play vital roles in our nations progress. The faculty, infrastructure, Student amenities and placement services are a notch above the rest in the region. Along with a high level of education, the Students are given guidance and training on important aspects like their moral values and physical well being. With the aim of providing greater opportunity for those deserving Students, the College does not encourage capitation fees and in-fact provide fee concession to meritorious Students based on their marks in the qualifying examination.
