Olympic pledge

On April 17, when the Olympic torch relay reaches India, people in the capital city and other districts in Kerala will take a pledge to uphold Olympic values and the spirit of sportsmanship.

The Kerala Sports Council has made arrangements to read out the pledge at the Martyrs’ Column in the city and other district headquarters.

The Sports Council expressed solidarity with the Olympics. Terming the protests by Tibetan supporters anti-Olympics, Council president T.P. Dasan said they were aimed at undermining the true Olympic values and spirit.
