PUDUCHERRY: The functionaries of the Puducherry Cable T.V. Owners’ Association on Tuesday met Chief Minister N. Rangasamy and presented a charter of demands including the formation of a Government Cable TV Corporation. President of the association A.M. Saleem said the formation of the corporation would help to streamline the cable industry and to fix a uniform and reasonable subscription fee. Mr. Saleem said the Chief Minister had earlier promised to constitute the corporation after the Tamil Nadu initiate steps in this regard. “Now that the Tamil Nadu government has formed the corporation, the Union Territory should initiate steps to fulfil the assurance,” he said. WaiverThe association also appealed to the administration to take steps to waive entertainment tax like it was done in Tamil Nadu. They have also demanded the constitution of a welfare board for cable TV workers.
