Long-pending demand of woman advocates fulfilled

‘Take up cases especially those related to women’


HUBLI: More woman advocates should come forward to take up cases in courts, Principal District Sessions Judge Pradeep Vaingankar has said.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the Mahila Vakilara Bhavana on the court complex premises in Hubli on TuesdayMr. Vaingankar called upon the woman advocates to make efforts to keep themselves abreast of recent developments in the legal field.

Second Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division) Lavanyalata, who inaugurated the bhavana meant for woman advocates, called upon the woman advocates to update their legal knowledge and take up cases relating to many of the problems in the country especially those related to women.

Principal Civil Judge H.R. Shrinivas said that with the inauguration of the bhavana the long-pending demand of woman advocates had been fulfilled.

Presiding over the inaugural function, president of the Hubli Bar Association C.R. Patil said that woman had been accorded a noble place in the Indian society, and participation of more woman advocates in the legal field would certainly ensure speedy justice to petitioners.

Judges such as V.G. Bhoopaiah, N.S. Dafedar, H.N. Koraddi, S. Narasamma, S. Shyamala and S. Shrinivas; and the former presidents of Hubli Bar Association S.S. Shettar, T.A. Chuahan, N.R. Dharwadkar, A.C. Chavadi and S.M. Halemani were present.

Counsel Sofia Shet welcomed the gathering. Secretary of the Bar association C.S. Neeralagi compered and counsel P.L. Satyamurthy proposed a vote of thanks.
