KOCHI: Aluva-based Federal Bank has won the ‘Best Core Banking Project Award 2007’ at the Asian Banker IT Implementation Awards 2008 ceremony held at Hanoi, Vietnam. The award was presented to Federal Bank and its technology partner Infosys for a project involving replacement of a core banking system (CBS). The award was received by M. Venugopalan, Chairman & CEO, Federal Bank, at Hanoi. The CBS rollout in Federal Bank, involving 546 branches and offices, 4 million customers, and 2,000 plus users, was completed in less than a year, one of the fastest implementations in India’s banking history. Submissions for 13 categories of awards were received from 11 countries and regions.
