JAIPUR: The Bharatiya Janata Party leadership blamed the policies of the United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre for the price rise on the occasion of the party’s country-wide protests against inflation on Tuesday while Youth Congress activists burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje here in Jaipur accusing her of not taking effective steps to control prices. Addressing a dharna at Bari Chauper in the Walled City, BJP leaders Venkaiah Naidu, Gopinath Munde and party’s State president Omprakash Mathur held UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh responsible for the escalation in prices. The BJP leaders also accused the Centre of discriminating against the BJP-ruled States in allocation of food grains.
