JAIPUR: The District Collectorate of Dungarpur in Rajasthan has been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certificate in recognition of its quality services and “people-centric” functioning that has benefited the tribal population in the region. The Collector’s office is the first among the tribal-dominated areas in the country to achieve the distinction. Minister of State for Medical and Health and in-charge of the district, Bhawani Joshi, released the certificate in Zila Parishad auditorium in Dungarpur on Tuesday. He said the targeted sections should get full benefits of the government’s welfare schemes. Coordinated effortsDistrict Collector Niraj K. Pawan said the Collectorate had got the certificate as a result of coordinated efforts to resolve people’s grievances. The ISO certificate covers the different wings such as accounts, store, establishment, revenue, vigilance, land records, public prosecution and help desk. An ISO team comprising an auditor and a consultant visited the Collectorate recently for audit of its works and reviewed its functioning on the basis of international norms.
