Excise raid unearths spirit, spurious toddy

Thiruvananthapuram: Excise officials seized 384 litres of spirit and 245 litres of spurious toddy from a house at Koliyoor near here on TuesdayActing on a tip-off, a team led by Thiruvananthapuram Excise Range Inspector A.S. Binu raided the house. Two vehicles, a Maruti Omni and an Ambassador car, used to transport the spirit and toddy were also seized. Sudheer, 24, a native of Karikkakam was arrested.

A motorbike used to escort the consignment was also taken into custody from the house.
