India blanks Malaysia

NEW DELHI: The Indian boys opened their campaign with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Malaysia in a group ‘A’ league match of the Asia-Oceania World junior under-14 tennis championship at Shenzhen, China, on Tuesday.

Ronit Bisht and Digvijay Singh Mehta dropped only 12 games in India’s convincing win.

The results: India bt Malaysia 3-0 (Digvijay Singh Mehta bt Mohammed Asri Merzuki 6-1, 6-2; Ronit Bisht bt Syed Mohammed Agil Syed Naguib 6-0, 6-3; Ronit & Digvijay bt Merzuki & Naguib 6-3, 6-3).
