Loans to ryots at their doorsteps

ADILABAD: The Deccan Grameena Bank has launched the Deccan Rythu Cheyoota scheme for covering all eligible farmers under its crop loan net within the service area of its 173 branches across four districts.

The programme will continue till May 5 by which time about 30,000 to 40,000 new farmers are expected to be enrolled as eligible for availing crop loans.

“The novelty of the scheme lies in the bank officials going to the farmers’ doorsteps to complete the documentation process,” said bank chairman G. Subrahmanyam, talking to The Hindu.
