Teachers to boycott SSC spot valuation
HYDERABAD: Members of the AP Joint Action Committee of Teachers’ Organisations (JACTO) on Wednesday decided to intensify their eight-day-old relay hunger strike by going on indefinite fast and boycotting the ongoing SSC spot valuation work from April 19.
The decisions were taken by the committee to protest against the Government’s indifferent attitude even after the relay hunger strike entered the eighth day on Wednesday. School Education Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha is slated to hold discussions with leaders of the committee on April 17 on several demands of teachers, including unified service rules.
The other demands include scrapping of apprentice appointments and withdrawal of legislations on unaided service and upgraded scales of language pandits.
The talks here on Tuesday between the leaders and the Government represented by C.B.S. Venkataramana, Principal Secretary, Education, and Balaramayya, Director, School Education remained inconclusive as the leaders insisted on either written word or issuance of orders on two demands. .
