CHANDIGARH: Top-ranking Korean companies have expressed their desire to set up a Korean hub at Gurgaon in Haryana as a gateway to their future investment in the State. A delegation of prominent Korean companies met Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here on Wednesday and sought assistance of the State Government in setting up the Korean hub as a sequel to Mr. Hooda’s visit to Korea in November 2005 when he had invited Korean entrepreneurs to invest in Haryana. Mr. Hooda assured the 11-member delegation full assistance in setting up the hub but at the same time also urged them to have a business partnership with HaryanaHe disclosed that in Haryana 36 technical and financial collaborations had taken place with Korean companies pushing in an investment of Rs.280 crore. He said an industrial-friendly climate prevailed in Haryana and it had been ranked as No.One State in per capita investment. Mr. Hooda directed Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Industries) P. K. Chaudhary to look into the issue of setting up the Korean hub in Haryana and provide them all assistance.
