3.32 crore textbooks supplied

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government has supplied 3.32 crore textbooks for first to eighth standards to over 9,500 nodal centres in all districts of the State for distribution to children free of cost during the academic year 2008-09.

Education Minister Kalicharan Saraf said here on Wednesday that over 68.90 lakh students would benefit from the scheme, while the textbooks had been purchased at a cost of Rs.39.69 crore. Books have been supplied in accordance with the demand placed by District Education Officers for each nodal centre.
