CHENNAI: When news about cinematographer-director Jeeva’s death while shooting for ‘Dhaam Dhoom’ in Russia reached Kollywood, it took the industry by shock. Now, the project he had passionately begun has almost neared completion and will be released in May.

Producers Murali Manohar and Sunada said the film was almost over and only one song was to be shot. “This is ace director Jeeva’s first ever action film made in his own style, with sophistication. He has shown Russia in all its splendour and beauty. We shot nearly 40 days in and around Russia and each location was totally fascinating.”

The story is about a young doctor who falls in love with a cute village girl, played by Kangana Ranaut. After getting engaged, they go to Russia for a medical conference. There, the young doctor gets trapped. How the two of them escape has been told in a thrilling manner.

Executive producer Jayakumar said cameraman Rajasekar, who has worked with Jeeva, and second unit director G.K. Manikandan, who worked with Jeeva from his very beginning, has finished the project as was visualised by the ace cameraman-director. Says ‘Jeyam’ Ravi: “For me ‘Dhaam Dhoom’ is a beautiful film with all the needed elements for a box office success.” The cast includes Lakshmi Rai, Jayaram, Anu Haasan, Mahadevan and Srinath. There is also a Russian girl who has acted in the film.

Three stunt masters — Chris Anderson from Australia, Kanal Kannan and Thiagarajan — have worked in the film. Costumes have been designed by Jeeva’s wife Aneez and S.Ramakrishnan has penned the dialogues.
