KASARAGOD: One more person was killed in clashes in the Kasaragod municipal limits on Wednesday despite the presence of a strong police force in the town. Sinan, 21; son of Ahmed, Aanabagilu, a resident of Asok Nagar in the town was stabbed to death on Wednesday afternoon. He was rushed to a private hospital in Mangalore. With the death of Sinan, the death toll in the violence in the town has risen to two since Monday night. BJP worker K. Sandeep Kumar was killed by miscreants in the town on Monday night. Three heldMeanwhile, the police on Wednesday arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Sandeep. The arrested were Abdul Rahim, a watcher at a shopping complex at new bus stand; Muhammad Rafeek, a native of Mastikundu in the district and Suhail Khan, a native of Asok Nagar. Speaking to The Hindu, District Superintendent of Police Ramadas Pothen said the police had registered eight cases in connection with the violence. He said around 50 persons were in preventive custody. All-party meetAn all-party meeting held here on Wednesday deplored the violent incidents occurred in the town from Monday on wards. District Collector E.J. James and District Superintendent of Police Ramadas Pothen assured the meeting that strong steps would be taken to curb the violence. Those who indulged in violence would be dealt with sternly. A special squad of the police would be formed to investigate in to the recent violence, said Mr. Pothen.
