Special team conducts debugging operation

L. Srikrishna

CHENNAI: Special teams of police personnel conducted a debugging operation at the offices of the Chief Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, and the Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, on Wednesday.

A source in the Police Department said the operation, which commenced at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, was completed at 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

During the operation, it was found that the conversation had been allegedly leaked from the office of the Director V&AC, the source said and added that discreet investigations would reveal more information such as how they were leaked out to the media and other external agencies.

Following the expose of telephonic conversation between the Chief Secretary and the Director V&AC in the media recently, the government had ordered an inquiry into the issue by a retired High Court judge.
