PATHANAMTHITTA: A 21-member team from the Prince’s Foundation for Integrated Health (FIH) in the United Kingdom, visited the Mannam Memorial Co-operative Ayurvedic Medical College at Pandalam on Thursday. According to Dr. B.Harikumar, medical officer at the NSS Ayurvedic Hospital at Vallamkulam, near Thiruvalla, who had accompanied the team to Pandalam, the mission of the team was to explore the scope and possibility of and integrated research in modern and indigenous systems of medicine. The team comprising doctors from United Kingdom, that include two Indians, reached the college at 10 a.m. Mannam Cooperative Society chairman Pandalam Sivankutty, college principal C.R. Agnivesh, K. Rajashekharan Pillai, general manager and Vasakumari, deputy superintendent, received the team, offering them Ponnada in traditional style. Dr. Agnivesh, who won this year’s Dhanvanthari Award, took a two-hour class on Ayurveda to the medical team from the U.K. later. The FIH team visited the herbal garden and the Ayurvedic Medical College Hospital complex. The team also visited the Vasthu Vidya Gurukulam Mural Art Gallery and Vijnana Kala Vedi, a cultural centre, at Aranmula.
