Series of functions held to mark the 11th death anniversary of Biju Patnaik Striving to translate Biju’s dream into reality, says Naveen BHUBANESWAR: Rich tributes were paid to the late Biju Patnaik on the late leader’s 11th death anniversary on Thursday. A series of functions were held to mark the occasion. The day began with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly Prahallad Dora and a host of dignitaries paying floral tributes at the statue of the late leader on the Assembly premises. Attention was then shifted to Forest Park of the city where Mr. Patnaik and a host of Biju Janata Dal leaders paid tributes to the late former Chief Minister. A memorial meeting was also held at the BJD’s sate headquarters here where a large number of party workers paid tributes to the leader after whose name their party had been named. The Chief Minister also visited Swarg Dwar in Puri and paid floral tributes to his father at his Samadhi. Many BJD leaders party were present. Mr. Patnaik also attended a State-level official function that was held at the Jayadev Bhavan auditorium in the Capital city to mark the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Patnaik reiterated that his government was striving hard to translate Biju Babu’s dream of a building a prosperous Orissa into reality. Finance Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai, Agriculture Minister Surendranath Nayak and other leaders attended the meeting and spoke about the ideals of the late leader.
