KOTTAYAM: A century by Jackson Cleetus enabled Kollam take the first innings lead over host Kottayam on the opening day of the South Zone under-16 inter-district cricket match at the University stadium on Thursday. Jackson scored 119 runs as the visitor ended the day at 236 for five in 57.1 overs. Earlier, Kollam bowlers led by Santhanu (three for 16) dismissed the host for a paltry 56 runs in 31.2 overs. Sanju hits hundredAt the Medical College ground, Thiruvananthapuram aided by Sanju Samson’s century (100) piled up 402 in its first innings against Alappuzha. Abhishek Mohan (98) and R. Akhil (51) also made useful contributions for Thiruvananthapuram. At stumps, Alappuzha was in a spot of bother after losing two quick wickets. The scores: Kottayam 56 in 31.2 overs (Santhanu three for 16) vs. Kollam 236 for five in 57.1 overs (Jackson Cleetus 119, Arjun Kishore 43); Thiruvananthapuram 402 in 72.3 overs (Sanju Samson 100, Abhishek Mohan 98, R.
