VISAKHAPATNAM: The State Bank of India donated Rs. 20.67 lakhs to the Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital, as part of is community services banking activity. Chief General Manager of SBI Hyderabad Circle R.K. Sharma handed over a cheque for Rs. 20.67 lakhs to the managing trustees of the Sankar Foundation. The money would help the hospital to acquire sophisticated equipment to carry out complicated eye surgeries on poor patients free of cost. Mr. Sharma said the SBI had spent Rs.1.40 crores this year under the community services banking activity. SBI Hyderabad Circle had so far adopted 1,300 girls under the Adoption of Girl Child scheme and disbursed Rs. 40 lakhs to the beneficiaries. Deputy General Managers of SBI Supriya Kumar Chaudhury and Kalyan R. Mohanty, Manimala of Sankar Foundation and others were present.
