Hyderabad: There was mild tension at the Salar Jung Museum here on Thursday when a CISF constable, Ramanayya, allegedly trained his gun on a museum staffer and misbehaved with a journalist. Following a complaint by Ahmed Ali, Curator cum Conservator, SJM, the museum director, A.K.V. S. Reddy, sent a report to the CISF commandant to enquire into the matter and take appropriate action. Trouble started when the CISF jawan stopped a local journalist, when he went to cover the exhibition on “Iran at a glance” that opened on Thursday. ArgumentThere was an argument between the two and later the journalist complained to Mr. Ahmed Ali about the incident. The latter brought this to the notice of CISF Inspector, D.S. Rawat, who called the constable to enquire. As they were all waiting at the reception counter, there was an argument between Mr. Ali and the constable and the latter trained his rifle on the museum staffer. The Inspector reportedly intervened and pulled away the rifle. Ahmed Ali, who felt insulted, later tendered his resignation to the Museum Director. But he withdrew it when Mr. Reddy promised to take action. Journalists present at the museum staged a dharna and lodged a complaint against the constable at Mirchowk police station.
