Bangalore: Moscow’s premier academic chamber orchestra, Musica Viva, in collaboration with Bangalore School of Music will be performing in Bangalore on Monday. Founded 30 years ago in Vladimir by violinist and conductor Victor Kornachev, Musica Viva has been headed by noted violinist, pianist and conductor Alexander Rudin since 1988. Among the prominent performers of Musica Viva are pianists Eliso Virsaladze, Alexey Lyubimov, Boris Berezovsky, Nickolay Petrov and Denis Matsuev; cellists Nataliya Gutman and Roel Diltins; violinists Sergey Stadler and Isabel Faust; and flautist Andrash Adorian. The orchestra has travelled widely on concerts and recorded over 20 CDs. Musica Viva founded the international Festival Musical Assemblies in Tretyakov House in 2000, and reached a landmark in 2005 when they performed at the Classic Cavalcade Project. The orchestra will perform at Chowdiah Memorial Hall on April 21 at 7 p.m. Free invitations can be collected on a first-come-first-served basis between 10 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. at the ICCR office, 26/3-B, Sankey Road Cross, near Windsor Manor Hotel.
