Dance competitions from April 27

BHUBANESWAR: The three-day annual Naveen Kalakar - Odissi Utsav and State-level talent hunt competition would be staged in the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya (USM) auditorium here from April 27 to 29. It is being hosted for the second year by Devdasi Nrutya Mandir in collaboration with the USM, Muscat-based A.K. Parija Presentations and Orissa Samskruti Academy.

Artistes who would score marks above 80 per cent would be conferred Odissi Jyoti titles. While dancers in the age group of 10 to 30 can perform in this festival for young artistes, the State-level competition would be held among dancers in the age group of 17 to 25. The best three performers would receive cash awards of Rs.10, 000, Rs.5, 000 and Rs.3, 000 respectively.

Last date for receipt of applications is April 20 and application are available at the Orissa Modern Art Gallery.
