CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday described B.R. Ambedkar as a great patriot, true nationalist and messiah of the downtrodden who had waged a crusade throughout his life to ameliorate the lot of the poor. Mr. Hooda expressed these views after visiting an exhibition put up by the Haryana Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department on the life and works of Dr. Ambedkar here. He described Dr. Ambedkar as an eminent educationist, good orator, able administrator, and architect of the Constitution of India. Maintaining that Dr. Ambedkar did not belong to the Scheduled Castes alone but was rather the “voice” of the poor, Mr. Hooda went on to add that his own regime was following the cherished ideals and principles propagated by Dr. Ambedkar.
