THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Close on the heels of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s highly successful Bharat Darshan Special Train, another special train will start running from Kerala on May 15 offering an affordable tour package covering important tourist destinations in the country. The ‘Navabharat’ train, exclusively for tourists, will start from Palakkad and proceed via Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kasaragod and through the Konkan Railway to Jaipur, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Simla, Agra and Hyderabad to return on May 26. The tourists will get an opportunity to visit tourist and historic monuments such as the India Gate, Qutab Minar, Birla Mandir, Lotus Temple, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, Teenmurti Bhavan, Indira Museum, Shantivan, Taj Mahal, Charminar and Ramoji Film City. Main attractionsAir-conditioned luxury buses, hotel rooms for a group of three persons, services of guides at the tourist spots, security arrangements for each coach, vegetarian food and shopping facilities at the tourist destinations are the attractions of the package. Cost of packageBabu, managing partner of the Vadakara-based Keyee’s tours and travels, told a press conference here on Friday that the cost of the non-air-conditioned tour package per person was Rs.8,800 and that of the air-conditioned package (three-tier air-conditioned and air-conditioned hotel room) Rs.13,800. The last date for submitting details of those interested in the tour is May 8.
