33 senior officers transferred in U.P. administrative reshuffle

LUCKNOW: In a major administrative reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government on Friday moved 33 senior IAS and seven Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers. Among them are divisional commissioners Rajiv Kumar of Gorakhpur and K.L. Meena of Faizabad.

While Mr. Kumar moves to Faizabad in the same capacity, Mr. Meena, who has been replaced by P.K. Mohanty in Gorakhpur, has been made Secretary, Social Welfare.

Suresh Chandra is the first Commissioner of the newly-created Aligarh division and Dinkar Prakash Dubey the first District Magistrate of Kanshi Ram Nagar (Kasganj). The Aligarh Division and Kanshi Ram Nagar district were created by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on April 15. While Aligarh became the 18th division in the State, Kanshi Ram Nagar is the 71st district.

Apart from Kanshi Ram Nagar, district magistrates have been appointed in 20 other districts, including Agra, Etah, Mahoba, Allahabad, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Shahjahanpur, Etawah, Sant Kabir Nagar, Chitrakoot and Jhansi.

Ashok Kumar Verma, Special Secretary in the State Home Department and son-in-law of the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Kalyan Singh, has been shifted to the Agriculture Production Commissioner’s office. The former Director of Information and Public Relations Department, Madhukar Dwivedi, has been appointed the new District Magistrate of Etawah, the home district of another former Chief Minister, Mulayam Singh.

Mr. Dwivedi replaces Pragyan Ram Mishra, who has been transferred as DM of Hathras. Special Secretary, Coordination, M. Devraj replaces Rajiv Agarwal as District Magistrate of Jhansi. Mr. Agarwal has been moved to Allahabad. Allahabad DM Ashish Kumar Goel has been shifted to the Rural Development Department as Special Secretary.

Aligarh DM Bhuvanesh Kumar has been replaced by K. Rammohan Rao. Mr. Kumar has been transferred to the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department as Special Secretary.
