This Day That Age
Miss Pearl Buck, the American novelist, revealed recently that she had been writing for many years under the masculine pen-name, John Sedges, as well as her own. Miss Buck said she used the other name for five books with American back-grounds to prove that she could write something completely different which would be accepted on its own merits. Her first book under the name of John Sedges, called The Townsman, was published 13 years ago and was well received by critics.
