Kuala Lumpur: A Tamil daily, which was shut down by the authorities here for allegedly breaching licensing guidelines, has appealed to the Malaysian government to review its decision. Makkal Osai general manager S. M. Periasamy has sent a letter to the Publication Division of the Home Ministry appealing to restore its publishing licence. Breach of guidelinesThe Malaysian government has said it decided not to renew the licence as the daily breached some of the permit guidelines. All Malaysian media outfits need government licence which is renewed annually. — PTI
