Progress of rehabilitation works reviewed

PUDUKOTTAI: Collector D. Uthirakkumaran, on Thursday, reviewed the progress of the work on construction of houses under the Rajiv Gandhi Rehabilitation Package (RGRP) to benefit the Tsunami-hit villagers of Manamelkudi and Avudaiyarkovil blocks.

Addressing the engineers and contractors executing the work at a meeting held at Manamelkudi, the Collector directed them to ensure its expeditious completion, so that the houses could be handed over to the affected families.

He also reviewed the works on providing road facility being executed under the Tsunami Emergency Assistance Project. He said six road works had been taken up at a total estimate of Rs.1.34 crore.
