‘None will trust Naidu’s stand on Telangana’

Vundavalli Arun Kumar

HYDERABAD: Congress Member of Parliament from Rajahmundry V. Arun Kumar has made light of the statement by Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu that he is not against creation of Telangana.

Replying to a query at a press conference here on Friday, Mr. Arun Kumar said every time Mr. Naidu made a promise or a statement, he had failed to keep it. He said since 1996, the TDP president had been assuring people of his commitment to fulfil all the assurances given by him. He is known to dump his promises without citing any reasons, the Rajahmundry MP said. The Congress party had already made its stand clear on Telangana. The party is in the process of evolving a consensus on the issue of statehood, he said.

“If TRS president K. Chandrasekhara Rao had agreed for the constitution of second States Reorganisation Commission, creation of Telangana would have become a reality by now,” he remarked. He pointed out that no other party was committed to the creation of a separate State.
