Fire Service Week
A mock fire and emergency drill was conducted by the WelcomHotel Grand Bay in association with the Visakhapatnam Fire Brigade, as part of the ongoing Fire Service Week, on Friday. Firemen carried out a mock evacuation of a stranded guest from a room with the help of a ladder and a staff member with the help of rope. The mock drill is now a permanent part of this annual event at the hotel, according to its general manager Ram Misra. The Fire Service Week celebrations at Hindustan Shipyard Ltd. concluded on Friday.
Director (Technical) Naresh Kumar called for strict implementation of safety measures and advised the staff to avoid smoking at the work place to prevent fire accidents. Senior officers and staff, union representatives and employees attended.
