Scared housewife pretends to be asleep on seeing the knife-wielding burglar HYDERABAD: A mask-wearing miscreant took away Rs. 6 lakhs and gold ornaments weighing 200 grams at knifepoint after sneaking into a house at Qadribagh of Amberpet in the early hours of Friday. The house owner lives in Dubai while his wife Kamar Sultana along with her teenaged son and eight-year-old daughter reside in the two-floor house. Ms. Sultana’s family lives on the ground floor portion. Six portions -two each on ground, first and second floors- were rented to six families. According to Ms. Sultana, the offender who covered his face with a cloth, entered the bedroom where she was sleeping with her daughter around 2.30 a.m. “On seeing him I got scared and pretended to be sleeping,” she told the police. The robber collected gold jewellery from the almirah and cash in a bag kept beneath the bed and fled. She later found that the robber had bolted the room, in which her son Toufeeq was sleeping.
