Telugu Desam candidates’ list by April 21

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Polit Bureau which met here on Friday finalised the list of most of the candidates for the coming byelections.

Their names are likely to be declared by party president N. Chandrababu Naidu while launching his ‘mee kosam’ yatra, from Tirupati on April 21.

Barring five constituencies, Khairatabad, Musheerabad, Vikarabad, Siddipet and Yellareddy, the Polit Bureau is believed to have cleared all other names. Khairatabad has been held back to see if the Congress seeks TDP’s support. Since the family members of former MLA P. Janardhan Reddy whose death caused the byelections, too made a request to leave the seat to his son. P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Mr. Naidu appears keen to oblige. But the TDP expects Congress to leave Therlam in Vizianagaram to it. The TDP decided to field the son of Tentu Jayaprakash whose death caused the vacancy. Similarly, the TDP wants to leave Musheerabad constituency in the city to CPI (M).
