‘Robber’ nabbed

NEW DELHI: Four young men robbed a bank manager of nearly 200 gm of gold and 100 gm of silver at Vishwas Nagar here on Friday. While three of the culprits managed to flee after firing in the air, one was nabbed and beaten up by the public and had to be hospitalised.

The police said the robbers had struck at the house of Basant Lal. When his son was away at work and his two daughters had gone to deposit a bill in the afternoon, the robbers gained access to the house. When Mr. Lal’s daughters returned, they found the door of their house open and two young men standing outside. The local residents gathered on hearing the cries of the girls. While three of the robbers fled, one was caught.
