Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The city police pulled out all stops for the inaugural of the IPL T-20 extravaganza posting around 1,500 personnel at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The inauguration saw deputy commissioners of police from all the five divisions keeping a hawk’s eye on fans.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Division) B.N.S Reddy said: “Along with the five deputy commissioners of police, 12 assistant commissioners of police, 50 police inspectors, 100 sub-inspectors and 1,000 constables had been posted to prevent untoward incidents.”

Moreover, 10 platoons of Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) were also provided towards security in the stadium.

The IPL organisers also hired private security personnel who were posted near the gates.
