St. Stephen’s committee submits report
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The committee set up by Delhi University’s St. Stephen’s College to enquire into allegations of molestation against a faculty member by a student from the United States has submitted its report.
The college media adviser Sunil Mathew refused to divulge the findings of the report.
“We are not ready to say anything. The internal discussion between pro-tem administrator M. S. Frank and the Supreme Council is yet to take place. The issue has not been taken up so far,” he said.
Mr. Frank was not available for his comments.
Meanwhile, college sources said though the report had indeed been submitted to Mr. Frank on Thursday, there was only speculation on what its verdict was or what it had recommended.
Apparently till late Friday evening no official letter or copy of the report had reached the accused teacher, a faculty member of the Sanskrit Department.
Last December, a student from the US had alleged that the teacher had touched her in an inappropriate manner on several occasions.
Subsequently the college complaints committee constituted a four-member committee to investigate the case.
