He complained that his shop was torched He named a few villagers as ‘suspects’ CUTTACK: In a barbaric incident, six persons of a family, including a woman and two children, were brutally injured when some local residents in Haripur area of the city attacked them late on Friday night. All the injured are now under treatment in SCB medical college and hospital. Police after registering a case are investigating the matter after the family made a written complaint in Purighat police station. “Names of at least 16 persons, including the local puja committee secretary Parsu Behera figure in the FIR as accused”, said the investigating police officer Padmini Behera. No one was arrested till Saturday evening, she added. According to reports, one Bharat Mulia of the locality had filed an FIR in the police station on Friday stating that some unidentified persons had set afire his readymade garment shop located at a distance from his residence afire on Thursday night. He had however, named a few of his villagers as ‘suspects’ in the case. Peeved over Mulia’s police complaint, some people attacked his family on Friday causing grievous injury to him and five of his family members. Mulia’s elder brother and sister-in-law also received multiple injuries, police said. Two children of the family were also not spared in the attack, police said.
